Gwen, I would like to correspond with you if you can answer this. I am a descendant of William H. McLaughlin b 1789 in Rowan Co NC, who later moved to Davidson Co Tn where his progeny continue to live. My mother was a McLaughlin and I have been working on the McLaughlin line for yearsbut inasmuch as she died when I was 16 I have had a hard time. I am familiar with your source and he sold me a copy of his manuscript but it does not list any sources for his information. I disagree with parts of it on my line. A fellow genealogist in Tn has given me a lot of information on this line which supports William Hart McLaughlin having moved to Tn and marrying Catherine Peebles in 1817. They had many children and I have pretty good documentation from her. Much of it is in the manuscript section of the Tn State Library. I hope to hear from you. I found your site through a listing for Samuel Doyel (1720) who appears in my family tree with wife unkown, Son Gregory C Doyel 1766, etc. I'm related to Samuel Doyel by way of my mothers side of the family (Garrison was her mothers maiden name). Gregory's daugher Cassandra married a Garrison. Her family has been traced back through this line 81 generations, but there is only a single thread that goes that far completely.
