Did your Emma Chamberlin marry Alfred Chamberlin - I am a great great great grand daughter of this couple.

All I know is Emma was Emma Rose - born in Buckinghamshire in about 1854 and died in 1920.

Do you think they are one and the same? If so what do you know of her family?

Comments:
I have lots of Malings/Malins in Deddington, plus Hopcrafts and Fardons etc. so our familys' paths have definitely crossed.

I just wish I was as orderly about recording everything as you are Don, my notes are so cryptic even I can't read them. This site is an object lesson for all people just beginning in genealogy!

I was really intrigued by the sheer size of your family tree. It must have taken you so long to compile. Looking quickly through the names I spotted Oman. This is my maternal grandmothers maiden name. Maud Oman born 1884 in Bermondsey. Her father John William Oman was born 1853 in Newcastle Northumberland. Her grandfather Thomas Oman born abt 1824 in Manchester died 1890 in Bermondsey. It is quite incredible how people moved around in those days. I shall certainly look up your site again, it is fascinating.

My surname may be Lloyd-Knibbs, but I'm from the first generation to have it (my Mum's maiden name was Lloyd, my dad's surname Knibbs, they joined them after their marriage.) My nickname is still 'Knibbsy', so when we were looking each other up on Google, my friend just put 'Knibbs'.

As I said, the names been passed down on my father's side, and apparently I'm not the first in the line to have 'Knibbs'/'Knibbsy' as a nickname. I've never met anyone outside the family with the surname, but was led to believe it was possibly of Welsh origin before the family moved to England.

As far as I know, the family has been in South East England (I live in Milton Keynes with my parents and siblings, my paternal grandfather in St. Neots, other members of my father's family around Stratford-upon-Avon) for as long as anyone can remember.

Seeing this website has made me think we must fit into the web somewhere, since it's such an uncommon surname. If anyone thinks they could link into my family they contact me (or if they know Knibbses from the same general area.)

What an amazing web site. I'd be fascinated to know more about how many other descedants of Knibbs have fraternal twins? I know that my great grandmother, Alexandra Knibbs was a twin (of a boy/girl pair) and that there are another pair of twins from the same branch of the family (I've seen the photo of Florence and Frank) and I, for my sins am a mother of twins! They say that dizygotic twins skips a generation and often comes from the mother's maternal grandfather, which seems odd, but that's how it has come to me! Anyone else have a similar situation?

Excellent family web-site, the best I've seen to date. Something for us all to aspire to.

I am the G.G.G.G.Grandson of William Collins shown in your family tree. Your web-site has given me several pieces of new information on my family history.(Thanks) I have detials of my line from William (i.e William - Henry - John - George - Eustace - John - 'Me') if you are interested. I am not sure if you are recording others families once they move away from your line (quite understandable if you are not)
Nevertheless, thanks again for the additional information and what is a very interesting web-site
Regards,
Mike Collins
