Don, Thanks to your meticulous research and documentation, I found not only my great-grandmother, but her ancestors all the way back to John Glenn in Londonderry, Ireland. (I know it was her because I recognized the names of all seven of her children.) I guess we must be cousins. I was curious whether I was a DAR.

Don,
I wondered if any male in your family with the surname CARROLL had taken the DNA test and become part of the Carroll DNA Project?

My cousin is kit# 32061, and we descend from Dempsey Carrell, Sr. who was in Duplin/Sampson County, NC by 1770. I'm always looking for another cousin and eventually hope to find an ancestor anywhere on the other side of the ocean.

I was told Harriett Carroll b early 1800's was in Absolum Carroll's line, but I have yet to find primary documentation. I still have hope , but I am 60 years old now and time may be running out. Harriett Carroll married Daniel McDonald at age 14 in Jones Co MS. She had my gggdfather and a daughter, then died. Daniel then married 14 year old Harriett Heidelberg. Two Harrietts make for confusing "family knowledge". The second McDonald family knew nothing about my great grandfather's line until I begin my research.Thank you for doing a website to help with research.

Don-
hope you remember me...I am going to ask a favor. I am working on the earliest generation and hope to find the common ancestor that some believe does not exist. Maybe not but that Calwell link I cannot ignore. I think that is where it happens. Can you share what you have on it...
My fascination is in James Glenn who married Jean Caldwell and Thomas Glenn who married widow Margaret Caldwell. James Glenn son of Ninian is the right generation to be connected to Thomas Glenn who married Margaret Caldwell...I saw it somewhere that James Glenn who married Jean Caldwell came to America with an uncle and cousins. I am wondering if Thomas could have been that cousin. Or that uncle. But the timeline seems off anyway so I wonder if youhave managed to get any data on that James Glenn timewise? Hope to hear from you

My mother's maiden name was Glenn - born in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Her mother and father were divorced some time after my mother's birth in 1900, so I never new my paternal grandfather. I believe his first name was Daniel but that is not proven. Many people who lived in Belleville in the early days were emigrants (United Empire Loyalists) from the USA so it is possible that my grandfather's family came from the states - as were my mother's maternal grand parents (Smith family) from upstate New York.

Thanks for a very informative site, Glenn. You may be interested to know that your ancestor Benjamin Reeve is brother to Tapping Reeve, a famous legal scholar and founder of one of the first law schools in America. I am researching Benjamin's line- he's my fifth great grandfather.
There is much genealogy on the Reeve family, a well-researched bunch starting in Long Island NY in the 1600s. Wesley L. Hopkins published a book on them in 1970.

Hi, Don,
Didn't have any luck trying to sign the guestbook with Netscape, so am trying IE. Just wanted to say thanks for your efforts, which have made my research MUCH easier.
I've been in touch with our cousins Julie M. and Marsha S. (Black Mountain) and Marsha has just sent an amazing amount of information. Apparently you and she have corresponded before.
I have a little more information on Pansy GLENN MILLER's husband's RHODES family; I'll have more over the course of the summer when I get to go to the coast to visit them.
The new look on your site is great! Keep up the good work.
Best regards,
