Family wrote she (1846/47-1890) was buried in a church cemetery near Escondido. San Diego Co. Recorder has no record. Find-a-Grave has been no help. I would like to find church cemeteries that might fit the "facts" so I can pursue that avenue. Spouse James M. Martin. This GGrandmother's burial site is the only one I am missing up to GGGs and I would like to locate it for a possible visit. THANKS from Houston TX

As the founding secretary of the Escondido Gene. Society in 1975, I was pleased to find that this society is still in existence and doing well. We left Escondido in 1981 to move to Spokane, WA. Took my first genealogy class in Escondido from Pat Gorman Scott (or reversed) and we all decided we needed to organize as we kept taking special classes. Anita Cheek Milner was a special friend. Congratulations on winning Honorable Mention ($100) from the Roots Television Libraries and Societies contest, as did my local Eastern Washington G.S. in Spokane. Nice web site. Genealogy is truly a wonderful addiction, isn't it?

I was the founding Secretary for this organization and delighted to know it is still going. We left Escondido in 1981 to move to Spokane, WA. Love it here. I have been President of our Eastern WA Gene. Soc. twice so still quite involved.
I don't suppose that Zola Irvin is still alive or that Pat Gorman Scott(may be reversed) is still a member.
