My grandpa grew up in South Dakota and knows alot of Langdeau's. His dad's sister Minnie Krueger married Abe Langdeau. I was tracing my family tree and came across this site. I loved being able to show my grandpa pictures of his family that he has not seen in years.

I believe Charles Shepard Newton was the Principal of the Indian Industrial School on the Sisseton Reservation
in 1877. He may have been sent there by the Presbyterian Church. His sister Josephine Newton worked as a clerk in the Reservation office.
I am seeking additional information about the school.

I jumped online and googled myself again and found a lot more of us.
While we probably don’t look alike, I have through years of ancestry research, figured out that most Whitcomb’s in America are somewhat related.
If you have heard the tale then you know…
5 brothers and a sister came here from London in or around 1642. The sister died on the way. The brothers eventually went their own ways. A couple staying up in your area, one traveled the California way, one came down the East coast way, and the other made it to Texas…eventually. I don’t know you from Adam, but have a great deal of interesting stuff on all of this stuff. If you are indeed related to one of these guys, then, I have tracked us back to the 1100’s, with the help of other Whitcomb’s, to royalty. But who knows…
This is not a scam or anything.
I’m enclosing my picture, and if you want to know more, I can either fax or mail you the stuff I have.

when my grandmother died years ago I tried to find out something about her past. I only knew her married name, but when my father died, and one of his sisters the obituary sid my grandmothers maiden name was Rosebud. I started researching the name and the only surname I can find for Rosebud is The Rosebud Tribe so I am searching census records to see if I see my Nana's name. Edie Rosebud!
