Home Page? Wroten
Comments:
My Mother was born in Milford DE in 1925. (Hazel Griffith).
Her Mothers maiden Name is Wroten, and was born in Greenwood
DE, 1888 She Had a brother named Frederic.(1878) I have been
to the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Milford many times and have
some names that are on your family page. I've had some
trouble getting some info living in NY. Earlier this year I made some connections with another Wroten member, He lives
in Wilmington DE His Name is Jacob (Jake) T. Wroten Jr. (1924),and his father is from Farmington DE (1865) & lived 101 Years. Jake believes his family is originally from Dorchester Cty.MD.
I have a question. How long did it take to get all the
information, and how much of it is actual & how much is
speculation. Thanks for your hard work.

Very nice web site.

My GGgrandfather, Jackson Andrew Holland ( possibly Andrew Jackson Holland, as the name has been seen both ways ) married Mary Catherine Skinner in Baltimore on October 9, 1856. It seems there might have been a double ceremony on that day as John J Skinner married Margaretta M Teal on the same day. Officiating at the Holland nuptials was a Rev George G Brooke, while the official at the Skinner ceremony was a Rev George G Brooks. Probably just a typo.

There were two children of the Holland-Skinner marriage. They were Ida Holland, who married a Charles Thompson, with at least one daughter, Marguerite. I have no other information there. The second child of the Holland-Skinners was my Ggrandfather, Edward Everett Holland. He married Katherine Knight, and their children were James, John, Mary and, my grandmother, Irene. Irene married Emil Seidler. They had two sons, Robert and William, my father.

It's good to have this web site resource available. I hope to have something up and running someday on my own family tree.
Best,
Ted

First, I must say you are doing what I've only so far dreamed about. Excellent web-page. Looking down through the "Hubbard" line. I only have a few questions/comments. The connection between my grandfather William E. Hubbard and my great grand father William T. Hubbard. According to the tomestone at the Concord Church, my great grand father's name is "John T. Hubbard" instead of William T. Hubbard. All the dates match, pretty much. Also, can you tell me what documentation you have that links, William T. Hubbard to Tilghman Hubbard (as Tilghman is suppose to be his father) Thank you very much for the help. Oh yea, my father told me that he had a uncle name "Floyd", I did't see that in the line. Also, how can I or anybody make updates to you linege? Thanks again, keep up the outstanding work. Ray

Home Page? Hester King & Tomas Bigger
Comments:
Hello,
My husband John Fitzpatrick is related to Hester King and Tomas Bigger I believe. His great grandmother was Ida Bigger born in Delaware. In the 1870 census Ida Bigger is located as a servant at 13. Thomas and Hester at that time have the three boys at home, Thomas, James and Harry. In the 1860 census Thomas and Hester have Sarah I and Hester A living with them. In the 1880 census Thomas just has the boys Thomas, James, Oley (girl), and Willey with him. I have located a probate for Thomas Sr. for 1896 and I have sent for it.
Ida Bigger married James Corcoran from NY, and settled in Philadelphia. I looked for a marriage certificate in Philadelphia this summer but was unable to find one. Possibly married in Delaware or Maryland, possibly 1878-1879, her first? child Ida was one year old in the 1880 Pa census. She had 13 children, nine lived. She is still living in the 1910 census and is stated as 55 years old. Her daughter Blanch Josephine married James McGlone and they are my husbands grandparents on his mothers side.
What is the connection of Hester King and Thomas Bigger to your family? I am fairly new at geneology, but I am very excited about each find. My husband is a civil war reenactor and I would love to find an ancestor that was in the civil war. Except fpr the King and Corcoran connection all our other ancestors came over from Ireland ands Poland to late for the civil war. Tahnk you for any information you have to share.
I love your web site.

I thoroughly enjoy your site. You have given me many more clues on the Todd line to continue researching. The pictures you've published are wonderful. A couple of them show a hint of resemblence to some in my more immediate family. I am directly descended on my mother's side from the FAIRBANK, DYOTT, BLADES, SEWELL lines, among others, from the St. Michaels and surrounding area. My mother's mother was Florence Thelma DYOTT, and her mother was Florence Virginia FAIRBANK, father was William Benjamin DYOTT. I have total about 30,000 in my TMG files, of which about 4,000 are family members from the Eastern Shore and their descendants that moved elsewhere. Keep up the great work and I'll be checking in often.

I was born in Havre-de-Grace, Harford County, MD. My husband, handicapped daughter and myself live in GA because we are a retired Army family. We are looking for a home to buy and are considering moving back to MD. My husband is from York County, PA. Looking through several real estate websites, I came across a town called "Greensboro" MD in Caroline County and it appeared very homey and a feeling of peacefulness. I know very little of Caroline County and would love to learn more. My daughter and I are both sick, I with a chronic illness that will take my life one day, therefore I need to be able to be new the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore if possible. Greensboro doesn't seem to be so far away and yet the country lifestyle I am yearning for. Personally, your home is beautiful; just wonderful but I couldn't afford it in money but in heart I can. God Bless you and your family. I really wish we could find a nice country home to live in for the rest of our lives and still manage to live on a military retirement check. All of us could gratefully use a miracle. Love your website too.

I am passing on reunion information . The "Short Family" reunion will be meeting Sunday, June 17th ,2001 at the Nutter Marvel( in the Short Family) Museum in Georgetown,DE.

Any questions about directions or anything else, email me and I will do the best I can.

A great sight ! I am related by my husband's maternal and paternal side. His 5th generation grandparents on his father's side are also his 6th generation grandparents on his mother's side. Also, I am related thru my mother's maternal side as well with the Short family. I think that if we go back far enough most everyone in Caroline County is related in some way to everyone else.

My mother's name was Rita Pauline Skinner, born April 16, 1922 in Cooper, TX, daughter of Samuel Skinner. She has/had many sisters and brothers. Larry "Bud" Skinner and wife Louise still live in Cooper, TX. It has been said that a Aunt had traced our family back to Queen Victoria. So I thought I might look at a few "Skinner" names. I have no clue what to look for besides "Skinner".
I enjoyed reading about your lovely family. Thank you for the privledge.

Saw your mention of Hicks Wright Nichols. I did find some information from Caroline Co, MD in your web site that may help me put his family togather. I don't know his grandfathers name. I do know that his father was Benjamin F. Nichols & mother was Hester Towers. That's the extent of my knowledge. Any help you could give is greatly appreciated. Enjoyed looking at your web site.

Parker, very interesting web site. I'm wondering if you have any info for Joseph Eaton (Eatton) who married Hester Ann Skinner in Queen Annes County in December 1830. In my gggrandfather's obit they were stated as being from Caroline County. He was Richard James Eaton b. 1833 and d. 1921 and married Indiana Dukes in the 1850's.
Thanks again for sharing your information.

It's great to see you on the internet. I've heard your name
associated with genealogy for years. I am curious about the
Andrew line. Do you know if the William Andrew mentioned in the will of John Andrew, written 1785, is the father of
Melvin Andrew, father of Ager Andrew. Looking forward to
hearing from you. Jean

On my website, I put my guestbook on a separate page so that my first page would not be too long. You might want to think about it. I like the clean lines of your page. I do have some problems seeing the print (old eyes, I guess) when I scroll down the page. It tends to blur.
By the way, in case you would like to know, I used AOL to view it, and it looks good on it. Congratulations also as it looks like from your source code that you did it all yourself. I know how much work that takes!
