I am not directly connected to the Harklerode line, however I am directly descendant from James HELMS who married Sarah Clevenger. James HELMS (b. Abt. 1817) had several children, but one of his sons (Samuel F. HELMS), married Sophia A. HARKLERODE. I however, am descendant from Samuel's brother, Daniel! Daniel married Grace Jane YEAGER. Both Samuel and Daniel lived most of their adult lives in Allen County, KS, and they are all buried there.

On deeds she used Batha M. M. Ling and Batha M. Ling. Her wedding ring had Batha M. M. Ling. She was married to Dorsey Summers Ling. I am especially interested in the children of William H. Ling, Dorsey's father who is buried in the Pleasantville Cemetery. They all spent a major part of their adult life in Windber, Pennsylvania.

Missing death date for William Earnest b.1843 d.1929 WIFE Catherine nee Suters, daughter of George and Susanna Suters PA. Wm and Catherine left Bedford Co. in 1878. Lived at Pontiac, IL for a couple of years then came to Stephenson Co. IL. Catherine very ill in 1885. Can find no death certificate or cemetery records. Wm recieved Gun Shot Wound to the spine during civil war. Also trying to locate the names of the people who adopted Wm & Catherine's dau. Daisy born about 1879 in Stephenson Co. IL.
